Socket Weld Elbow

This socket weld elbow turns a small-bore line 90 degrees with socket ends on both legs, so the direction change is made by inserting the pipe into machined sockets and welding the rims. The fitting is machined from 304/316 stainless steel, and the two socket bores are machined in one setup so the elbow keeps a true 90-degree angle with aligned sockets. The socket weld construction carries the pressure class through the bend, which threaded elbows on small pipe cannot always do.

An elbow concentrates stress at the bend, and misaligned sockets make that worse by forcing the pipe into the joint. We machine both sockets in the same setup so the legs hold the true angle and the pipe inserts square on both sides, which keeps the weld root even around the bend. For tight layouts where a standard radius does not fit, the bend geometry can be adjusted from the drawing and the socket bore matched to the actual pipe OD before production.
